Anaïs is bringing closer dance and literature. Based on the correspondance between Anaïs Nin and Henry Miller in 1931 – 1946, the dance originates from the content and the mood of the letters and transforms them into atmospheric movements. The correspondance between Miller and Nin shows its almost visceral need of communication in osmosis.
To catch as much as the literary ambition and the sexual exploration, their epistolar relation shows how much the two loved to pull down conventional walls of time, and to which point they were close in sharing that experience. The premiere of «Anaïs » has been presented in 2003 at Repérages/Danse à Lille. A tour followed in different European countries during more than two years. Besides, this project was presented 25 times at the Festival Off in Avignon in 2004.
